Bigfoot Announces Philippine Launch of FTV ModelSchool in Cebu
March 3, 2006 – Bigfoot Entertainment. (Bigfoot), through its affiliate the International Academy of Film and Television (IAFT), announces the Philippine launch of the Fashion TV ModelSchool.
First to be opened in Cebu and in the entire country, the Philippine franchise of the model school of the world's leading TV authority on fashion and trends, Fashion TV, will break new grounds in the local fashion and modeling business.
“We are very excited to open the FTV ModelSchool Philippines in Cebu, because we believe that by bringing in the experience and expertise of the FTV ModelSchool system we will be able to help elevate the standards in our local modeling business,” says Mr. Larry Mercado, General Director of Schools. “And with FTV's vast network worldwide, we are confident that we are giving aspiring models in the Philippines countless opportunities and exposure that they need to penetrate the international
modeling arena.”
The FTV ModelSchool Philippines will be the benchmark for the rest of the FTV modeling schools in the network. However, the ModelSchool will be localized in such a way it caters to the needs of both aspiring and professional models, who are interested in updating their modeling skills and learn new tips from the FTV experts, most especially on how to break through the global modeling market.
“The school will thus help expand the network of our local models and extend their marketability beyond our native shores,” says Mr. Mercado.
The FTV ModelSchool Philippines will tap fashion and modeling experts Supermodel Tweetie De Leon-Gonzalez and fashion director, Mr. Jackie Aquino to conduct classes on Fashion and Personality Enhancement, and Runway Modeling, respectively.
Workshops on hair and make up, and photographic and commercial modeling will be conducted by Rustan's and Ms. Daisy Ba-ad together with ace photographer Eisen Job Arquiza.
Throughout the entire program, ModelSchool students will also have the chance to learn a few modeling tips from FTV representative, Rebecca Picket, who has been an international runway and print model since the age of 14.
The purpose of the Fashion TV model school is to acquaint young people, from 13 to 25, both girls and boys, about the way models and “fashion” live and work. Model school students will learn everything about the modeling world, the best model agencies and the best photographers.
Students who finish the 5-week course (consisting of 5 modules to be covered in 8 sessions) will get basic introduction on how to walk, dress, makeup, present themselves to model agencies, learn tips on food and drinks, and general overview on who is who in the national and international fashion world.
Each student will receive at the end of the course a certificate from the Fashion TV ModelSchool Philippines. The name and selected photos will be posted on Fashion TV's website, showing all the successful members of the different schools around the world. This will provide them with a link to many professional opportunities in and outside the country.
All successful candidates will also become Fashion TV members entitled to many important rights and privileges, such as invitations to many FTV events, discounts at selected service providers, and access to FTV sites and locations.
To enroll in FTV ModelSchool Philippines, an applicant must fill out and submit an FTV application form. Application forms are available online and at the designated FTV ModelSchool booth in Ayala Center – Cebu.
